Have always passed this place on my way to the Marble Arch Caves and always say “I must call in there next time and take a look round it” and this time that’s exactly what i did, and boy am i glad i did. Another of the majestic National Trust sites we have in this part of the world and definitely well worth a visit.
You pull off the road and drive down the huge avenue into the estate. There is a visitor centre right at the car park ready to lead you off in which ever direction you fancy. Today as its our first time here we decide to do the blue trail (2.2 miles)
All trails lead away and return to the visitor centre so we decide to do the blue trail and a tour of the house, which can be booked in one of the courtyard shops up behind one of the main houses. The blue trail takes you on a loop of a mixture of flower lined forest trails to wide open grassy spaces providing multiple views of the mountains and house with each turn.

There are multiple information boards along the route describing how things worked when the house was fully operational. The blue trail also winds its way along a small river which you cross back and forth along the way giving you nice views no matter the weather. In and out of forest and around the perimeter of the large fields that surround the house there is always something to catch your eye.
As you get closer to the house again, you enter stunningly beautiful gardens that have lots of colour and hidden nooks and crannies just waiting to be explored. Again info boards tell you the working of the house and all the features that await you in the garden.
After the tour of the house, which i won’t give much away but another good experience, we made our way to the walled garden before we went back to the car and wow!!! we were there just as all the cherry blossoms were in full bloom and it was stunning. WE spent another 30-40 mins just leisurely walking through the beautiful setting, trying to take all the colours in.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day our at Florence Court and will definitely be back to tackle the longer red route to see what visual treasure that holds for us.
